Nomeda Basevičienė – prof. dr. med., doctor periodontologist. 

Education:

• 1988 – 1993 Undergraduate student, Kaunas Medical Academy;
• 1993 – 1994 Vocational training in general dentistry, Kaunas Red Cross Hospital;
• 1996 – 1998 Clinical practice in Kaunas Dainavos clinic;
• 1997 – 1998 Postgraduate education in Periodontology at Clinic of Oral and Dental Pathology, Kaunas University of Medicine;
• 1999 – 2003 PhD student at the Clinic of Oral and Dental Pathology, Kaunas University of  Medicine; defended PhD thesis (doctoral dissertation) “The role of ammonium ions development of periodontal diseases”.

Work experience, activities at the university:

• 1998 – 2003 Clinical Instructor at the Clinic of Oral and Dental Pathology, Kaunas University of  Medicine.
• 2003 – 2006 Lecturer at the Clinic of Oral and Dental Pathology, Kaunas University of  Medicine.
• 2006 – 2019 Position of docent at the Clinic of Oral and Dental Pathology, Kaunas University of  Medicine. Lectures for the 4th and 5th years students in Periodontology and Oral mucous diseases;  Clinical instructor for the 4th and 5th years students in Periodontology. Supervisor of  Periodontology Residency program.
• 2019 – present Professor at the Clinic of Oral and Dental pathology, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
• 2003 – present Periodontologist (specialist) at the Hospital of Kaunas University of Medicine.

Research interest: Periodontal diseases etiopathogenesis.

Publications:

The professor has published 65 printed works in peer-reviewed journals. She has published six teaching materials with her co-authors: “Professional Oral Hygiene”, “Gum Recession and Endo-Pericus”, “Dental Plaque and Ways to Remove It”, “Dry and Burning Mouth”, “Causes of Covering Diseases”.
